The One Wish singer, who infamously
co-starred in Kim Kardashian's Kim K Superstar sex tape, proposed to his
on-off girlfriend in October (15), just eight months after Love was
arrested for allegedly assaulting him.
They soon reconciled, and Ray J popped the question again in December (15), in front of friends and family.
Now the couple will tie the knot in Los Angeles on 12 August (16), and the singer, 35, cannot wait to start a family with his wife-to-be.
"She is the most important person to me," Ray J gushes in a statement to People.com. "We are really in a good place. Princess and I are looking forward to having children and building our family."
The wedding will be a black tie affair and be filmed for broadcast on their U.S. reality show, Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. The new season premieres on 15 August (16).
Princess Love, 31, was reportedly charged with domestic abuse and battery after she allegedly beat up Ray J in February, 2015, leaving him with cracked ribs, a split lip, and a torn ligament in his knee. All was quickly forgiven and the singer bailed his lover out of jail and covered her legal fees.
It is not yet known if Ray J's sister, Brandy, will be in attendance for the televised nuptials - she found out about their engagement on TV.
"I think they've been engaged for a while and they saved it for the reveal of the show that they're on together... but I was really irritated with him," Brandy told U.S. news show Access Hollywood Live in December (15). "I went, 'Dude, I'm your sister, why didn't you tell me you were engaged? I'm talking about it everywhere, people are asking me and I don't know anything about it.'
"I called him and said, 'Ray, I'm going on a talk show tomorrow, I need to know what's up. Are you really engaged, because I don't wanna look stupid'. So he told me."
At the time, Brandy also admitted she was still very much in the dark about her brother's wife-to-be, adding, "I don't really know the back story."
"Ray's a very private guy," she adds. "He doesn't tell me everything. All I know is they're in love and they're going strong."
