Kap G and Young Thug Escape Mexico in "Don't Need 'Em" Video - XXL

 

“Don’t Need ‘Em” could be considered the sleeper hit from Kap G‘s 2015 mixtape, El Southside, but the new visual that dropped yesterday (June 20) brings the words to life. Kap and Young Thug find themselves in Mexico but under less than luxurious circumstances. Somewhere in between meeting with the jefe at his villa and running scared through the Mexican desert, Kap is dressed in all white and driving an old school Buick convertible. Clearly from the up’s and down’s of Kap’s fate in this video, somebody is definitely being “played with.” The booming beat from Devon Wyatt & Squat Beats keeps the storyline moving quickly.

“Bitches calling me but I’m in meetings, meetings/Like a dog picture now I’m leaning, leaning/I was just on CNN with Don Lemon better stay on my pimpin’/Tom Cruz I’m on a mission (on a mission)/I’m going through a line like I’m fishing/I can’t help you shawty/I just like sipping/My money gettin’ like Tayshaun with the Pistons/Put a mill on the Bentley I ain’t talking biscuits/My bitch so bad she should be in an exhibit/I got a lot of green kinda like Reggie.”

Thugga makes a few key appearances in the visual, sporting new purple dreadlocks, to hold down the hook and add a little bit of his lyrical magic and adlibs in the second verse.

“I hate that feelin’ when I feel like I been played with/You know that feelin’ when they act like they gon take it/I know a lot of soldiers I thought weren’t gon make it/I know a lot of fake soldiers they betrayed/I ain’t no mufuckin’ cheater/I know a high-life nigga that will need em.”

The video ends with surveillance eyes on Kap G from above as night falls on the desert, an open-ended close which leaves the rest of the story line up to interpretation. Can Kap G outrun the fakes?
